Having previously been employed by the British NHS to teach English pronunciation to doctors from overseas, I have particular expertise in medical English.
This experience means that I can not only pronounce complicated medical terminology with (relative!) ease, but also that I come to the field with authority and that my performances exude confidence in the material.
As with all my work, my medical narration is informed by my academic background in the meaningful use of intonation in English, which is centred on the role of the listener in the process, and the listener's existing knowledge of the subject.
This, and my background as a university lecturer, has given me a great deal of experience at both live public speaking and recorded delivery of educational materials, both of which require the ability to keep the audience engaged and interested for an extended period of time.
